Who are we?

To answer this question properly, we need to go back a little in history...
Thousands of years before Christopher Columbus ventured across the seas in search of an alternative route to the Indies for the spice trade, and before Pedro Álvares Cabral reached our rich Brazil, "discovering" not only a New World but also new flavors and cultures, many ancient peoples already lived on the six continents and marked the origins of human history. Among them were the Aztecs, Maya, Celts, Incas, Aborigines and Pataxó, root civilizations of the human race that stood out and contributed significantly to the evolution of life in society.
THE AZTECS
They were highly developed, mastered advanced farming techniques, grew a variety of foods, herbs and spices, among them our beloved chili peppers, and even had a complex system of irrigation and soil drainage.

THE MAYA
They excelled in architecture, engineering and mathematics, with buildings that survive to this day and are visited by millions of people every year. They also created their famous calendar, so efficient and complex that it already set the 365 days of the year precisely and became a reference for the whole world.

THE CELTS
They introduced ironworking and metallurgy to the Old World. They are also known as the first civilized peoples of Europe and pioneers in trade, maintaining economic relations with different ethnic groups.

THE INCAS
They built a complex civilization known for its vast network of roads, bridges and water channel systems, and they even created a soil fertilization technique using excrement that greatly helped the development of agriculture.

THE PATAXÓ
The Pataxó are a warrior people who have fought since the Portuguese invasion to keep their lands and preserve their history, culture, language, customs and traditions. From their official language, Patxôhã, we took the word Jokana, which means woman and gives its name to our line of cachaças.

THE ABORIGINES
They are humanity's greatest living relic, recognized as the oldest living humans on the planet, and they use art as their main means of communication. Their culture is very rich; they relate to nature as equals, feel part of it and honor it in everything they do. The study of their genome has revealed scientific treasures that shed light on essential questions about our species' past, such as: where do we come from?
The roots of such knowledge are as ancient as they are diverse, and strong enough to lead humanity to what we know today and to help us answer the question that brought you here: who are we?
We are Biroots (be + roots), a brand inspired by the ingenuity of ancient civilizations and by the mix of aromas, colors, cultures and flavors of the original peoples and those who came after them. We were born from the idea of "it's got roots", added a Brazilian touch (be => bi) and perfected artisanal preparation, creating flavors that go beyond the plate and offer enriching culinary experiences to those who share them. We like rustic, but we're light in manner, smooth in texture and strong in seasoning! We found ourselves by looking inward and valuing our roots. What about you, do you know yours?
